These Healthy Habits are here to help you take personal responsibility for your own health — and that means to understand current nutritional science.

Your goal, in regard to your one and only physical body, should be to remain biologically young — IE, to endeavor to keep your body’s organs, systems, tissues, and cells functioning as perfectly as possible for as long as possible. Remaining biologically young through a hundred years or more is a modern-day choice. A modern-day person can choose to be a 40-year-old (biologically-speaking) at 80 years of age, or vice-versa, depending on one's health “maintenance” choices.

Slowing the progression of one's biological age is a modern-day “choice”. It grows out of the invention of antibiotics and modern medicine that helps people to not die from infections or traumas that routinely killed people in the past.

  • With life-shortening “past probabilities” removed from the modern equation of living because of medical advancements, and with modern supplements and understanding of the causes of aging, each of us is able to live for as long as the quality of our “self-maintenance” permits. Unfortunately, most people are ignorant of what to do to stay biologically young.

  • In the past, you were most likely to die from an infection or sudden trauma...

  • But, now, you are most likely to die from Cancer, Heart Disease, Alzheimer's, or Diabetes... all of which are caused by lifestyle and food choices!

To stay biologically "young" for up to decades longer than is normal you need to know how to maintain your body well so that your body degrades MUCH MORE SLOWLY than is the norm for people who do not engage in "knowledgeable" body maintenance practices. We recommend that you learn how to maintain your body in a state of optimal functioning by studying the six habits of health that we describe below. If you fail to implement the Six Habits of Health, for whatever reason, then you will grow old and die much sooner than what could have been.

If you're interested in longer, healthier life, and choose to implement the six habits of health, then, maybe one of the following goals below could be your health goal:

  • Maintain your body so well that your natural force is unabated, your mind sharp and your eyesight undimmed until at least 110 years of age.

  • Maintain your body so well that you can fully enjoy retirement for at least fifty golden years.

If you implement the Healthy-Living habits of health, you will be on a path that leads to a longer and healthier life. We recommend that you seek to understand the Six Key Habits of Health. Most people stop learning about health with their last health course in school. Don’t you do that! Instead, keep learning about how to nourish and detoxify your body... the two great goals for anyone who wants to live long and healthy.

Health knowledge is doubling every few years. You need to be informed of the current understanding about health, not the past understandings.

  • The best scientific knowledge available today, in 50 years, will probably seem like bloodletting (as a cure for infection) seems to us now.

    For instance, only sixty years ago medical teachers taught their students that if you touched the ‘fragile’ human heart it would be bruised and die. Today, doctors save lives by vigorously squeezing the heart. Sixty years ago, doctors were wrong.

  • And, only 20 years ago, scientists knew that stress caused stomach ulcers. Today, doctors know that bacteria cause stomach ulcers. 20 years ago, scientists were wrong.

  • And, only five years ago, scientists knew that antioxidants that extinguish free radicals would stop aging. Today, they know that stopping free radicals is only one of several essential actions for slowing down aging. 5 years ago, scientists were wrong!

If you could have only one car that absolutely had to last your entire lifetime, how well would you take care of it? You would take great care of it!

Ergo, you should take very good care of the one and only body you will have.

Most people don’t think about their health until they lose it. You should determine to be wiser and act preemptively to avert poor health down the road!

Make your health more important than anything else in your life.  Go into HEALTH URGENT MODE yesterday before a crisis hits! This is the advice of so many people who failed to do so.

Pay attention to your health! Notice how your body and your energy may be changing. Believe in your mortality. Believe that you are the man or woman dying from a cardiovascular event or from cancer — unless you keep an inwardly clean, well-nourished body. Think about the direction that your health is going... and when you see that you don’t like the end of the road that you are on... then you’d better back up fast. Most people relegate the responsibility for their health to their doctor or to pharmaceutical companies, or to spouse, family, or friends. You should believe your health is all up to you... because it really is!

Do not relegate your responsibility to be healthy to anyone else. And especially do NOT relegate it to those who could benefit from your poor health or early death, i.e. doctors and drug companies (who hope for your poor health so they have more business and profits) or the government (that pays less social security money the sooner you die after retirement).
